Great Lakes Airlines (Cheyenne) has announced it will drop services from Denver International to Dickinson, Great Bend, Hays, Williston Sloulin International, and Telluride with effect from late march/early April.

The move follows a round of flight suspensions announced in January for several Iowa, North Dakota and Minnesota cities.

Great Lakes said the decision was due to a "severe industry-wide pilot shortage" brought about by a new federal law requiring pilots at small airlines to have at least 1,500 hours of flying time, instead of the previous requirement of 500 hours.
