easyJet (London Luton) founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou and his siblings Polys and Clelia - collectively the Haji-Ioannou family - have reduced their shareholding in the British LCC by 1.27% from 36.95% to 35.68%.

A stockmarket filing by the easyGroup said the current Haji-Ioannou family shareholding now stands at 141,608,049 ordinary shares out of the total issued share capital as at March 311, 2014 of 396,819,107 ordinary shares.

In January 2013, the family offloaded 600,000 shares in protest at the airline’s decision to buy 135 new Airbus A320s and threatened further disposals if easyJet’s CEO, Carolyn McCall, moved ahead with the purchase. They argued that the carrier should not expand capacity because it would reduce profits.
