FlyA (Switzerland) (Geneva) has called it quits after founder and CEO, Julian Cook, told Swiss media publication, Travel Inside, that the start-up had failed to secure adequate funding.

Despite the set back, Cook said he would continue to seek dialogue with aircraft manufacturers as well as other prospective investors.

Plans to launch in 2013 were indefinitely postponed after the project's original investors developed cold feet.

Fly A had planned to offer low-cost transatlantic flights from London and Paris to destinations including Boston, Miami International, Montréal Trudeau and Newburgh (near New York) using a fleet of three A330s or B767s.
