Jetstar Hong Kong (Hong Kong International) shareholders, Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) and China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao), have not altered their respective shareholdings in the airline as previously reported by ch-aviation.
In a statement, the carrier noted that a February 2014 update to the Hong Kong-based start-up's share registry indicated that its shareholder voting structure had been changed to give local investor Shun Tak Holdings 51% shareholding voting rights with China Eastern and Qantas each retaining 24.5%.
"Changes to the voting rights and the appointment of additional board members from the local investor were made to further cement the Hong Kong leadership and governance at a board level. There have been no changes to the financial ownership of Jetstar Hong Kong, which remains an equal third held by Shun Tak Holdings, Qantas Group and China Eastern Airlines," the airline said.
