Spring Airlines (9C, Shanghai Hongqiao) launched its first international service out of Hangzhou with the introduction of a 3x weekly Bangkok Suvarnabhumi service on September 9. According to anna.aero, the route operates on-board an A320-200. China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) will itself launch a three times weekly A320-200 service on the same route from September 26 with both going head to head with Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang) already serving Bangkok Don Mueang up to twice daily from Hangzhou.

Currently, Spring's Hangzhou network also includes flights to Zhangjiajie Hehua, Guilin, Sanya, Shenyang Taoxian International, Shenzhen, Shijiazhuang, and Xi'an Xianyang domestically.
