SeaPort Airlines (2008) (Portland International) has taken delivery of its first two out of three new Cessna (single turboprop) Caravan 208Bs on lease from Residco Bank. The aircraft were handed over to the Oregonian carrier at a ceremony held at the Wichita Cessna Aircraft Field facility last week. The third is expected later next month.
"The three new Cessna Caravans join SeaPort’s existing fleet of 13 Caravans that operate in all Lower 48 routes, as well as two Juneau International-based Caravans that can be quickly changed from passenger to cargo configurations. Early in 2014, SeaPort retired the last remaining Pilatus Aircraft PC-12 from its fleet resulting in a Lower 48 fleet standardized with the Cessna Caravan," the carrier said.
The three new aircraft will initially be positioned out of Memphis International, the home base of SeaPort’s Mid-South route network. Markets served include Tupelo, Mississippi, where SeaPort launched service on October 27, as well as Muscle Shoals, Alabama and Greenville, MS where SeaPort will launch service on January 12, 2014.
