Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) president Juan José Hidalago has told Spain's El Economista that the Spanish carrier is trying to obtain traffic rights to operate "three to four daily flights between Miami and Havana".
The Spanish carrier currently operates five weekly A330-200 services from Madrid Barajas to Miami and daily flights between Madrid and Havana using a mix of A330-200s and A330-300s.
Tour operator Globalia, the parent of Air Europa, also operates resorts in Cuba and hopes to be able to profit from the end of US sanctions on Cuba.
