Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) shareholding in Tigerair (Singapore Changi) has remained static at 55.8% after it failed to secure additional rights shares during the budget carrier's recently ended rights issue.
A company filing to the Singapore Exchange (SGX) shows Tigerair received valid acceptances and excess applications for 1,797,426,548 rights shares, representing 156.7% of the total 1,147,102,770 rights shares available for issuance. The figure includes an application by Singapore Airlines for 1,147,112,005 rights shares.
At the close of the issue, which raised SGD229.4million (USD183.15 million), Tigerair’s share capital now stands at 2,496,635,441 shares with Singapore Airlines holding a 55.8% stake while other shareholders hold the remaining 44.2%.
