KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) says its first B787-9 will make its commercial debut on October 26, 2015, on its Amsterdam Schiphol-Abu Dhabi International-Bahrain International-Amsterdam route. The Dutch carrier has 23 of the type on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) of which two will be delivered this year, nine next year, five in 2017, two in 2018, one in 2021, two in 2023, and one in 2024.

Airline CEO Pieter Elbers said a press conference last week that with the arrival of additional airframes, the B787-9 will also be deployed on flights to Cairo International, Xiamen, Guayaquil, Vancouver International, Havana International, Chengdu Shuangliu, Tokyo Narita, Rio de Janeiro International, and Fukuoka.
