Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) has taken over dba (DI/Munich). The two carriers will continue to operate as separate entities but will coordinate schedules and dba will start using the Air Berlin brand name as of 2007. Air Berlin is expected to retire its B737-400 fleet later this year. It will launch six times weekly services from Palma de Mallorca to Asturias (A319-100/B737-400) and Milan Orio al Serio (B737-800) on November 1 and will also transfer its Dusseldorf-Paris route from Charles de Gaulle to Orly at the same time. Air Berlin has however already given up its Hamburg-Copenhagen route again and will cease its services from Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Hanover to Budapest by the end of October.
