Cobham Aviation Services Australia - Airline Services (Adelaide International) says it has secured a five-year contract extension from Australian nickel mining conglomerate, Minara Resources, to continue providing fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) services to its Murrin Murrin site, located 883 kilometres east of Perth in Western Australia.

The contract extension, which commenced in May 2015, involves operating eight return flights per week between Perth International and Murrin Murrin Airport. As part of the extension, Minara Resources have upgraded from an 81-seater to a 99-seat BAe146 jet aircraft.

Recently, Cobham introduced an ARJ85 jet capable of operating to/from gravel runways in support of Gold Fields Australia’s mining operations located in the Yilgarn Region of Western Australia. It has also introduced an E190 to support passenger and freight transport to Barrow Island in support of the Gorgon Project, a natural gas development in Western Australia.
