Aeroméxico (AM, México City International) has taken its México City International-Tokyo Narita return service non-stop as of the beginning of the year.

Prior to the arrival of the carrier's fleet of B787-8s, the outbound sector on the 4x weekly flight was forced to make a technical stop in Tijuana owing to payload penalties incurred as a result of Mexico City airport's altitude - 2,230m.

AeroMéxico's three times weekly B777-200(ER) service to Shanghai Pudong continues to operate via Tijuana.
