germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn) and TUIfly (Germany) (X3/Hanover) are reportedly planning to merge in 2008 under joint ownership of Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt), Eurowings (EW/Dortmund) and tour operator TUI. germanwings will launch twice daily A319-100 service from Stuttgart to Leipzig/Halle on January 7.
