China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan) has taken delivery of its maiden A350-900 following the arrival of B-18901 (cn 49) in Taipei Taoyuan on Friday, September 30.

The twinjet will be used on crew-familiarization flights to Hong Kong International and Osaka Kansai, Japan initially before beginning intercontinental operations to Amsterdam Schiphol, Vienna, and Rome Fiumicino next year.

The entire order of fourteen jets is expected to be delivered from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) by the end of 2018.

China Airlines' A350s are configured with a total of 306 seats, comprising thirty-two in Premium Business class, thirty-one in Premium Economy, and 243 in the main cabin.
