Azur Air Germany (Düsseldorf) has taken delivery of its maiden aircraft, B767-300(ER) D-AZUB (msn 25077), which was positioned to Düsseldorf on Thursday, June 1.

According to a press release, the aircraft is currently being used for crew training purposes and will shortly be joined by a second of the type - D-AZUC (msn 25535).

"We are pleased that our first aircraft has now reached German soil;" Peter Wenigmann, Azur Air's Accountable Maanager, said in a statement. "Over the next few days, numerous training sessions will take place on the ground and as soon as the official approval from the German civil aviation regulator (Luftfahrtbundesamt - LBA) has been given, our own, certified training pilots will make the first flights."

Flights to Palma de Mallorca, Rhodes International, as well as destinations in Egypt and Turkey, will commence, likely from the middle of this month onwards. Thereafter, long haul services to the Dominican Republic will start in July.
