Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) has taken delivery of its first B737-8 with LV-GVD (msn 64207) having been positioned from Seattle Boeing Field to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini via Punta Cana on November 22/23. Once all necessary paperwork has been completed, the jet is scheduled to make its commercial debut on December 1.

In addition to this aircraft, a further four MAX 8s will be delivered to the Argentine carrier through May 2018. All are on lease from the Aviation Capital Group. Airline Chief Executive Officer Mario Dell'Acqua told El Economista earlier this month that Aerolineas Argentinas would acquire a total of twelve MAX 8s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) by 2020. In another interview with FlightGlobal, Dell'Acqua mentioned that the aircraft would also be used to open a new route to the Caribbean from either Buenos Aires Ezeiza or Córdoba International.

The ch-aviation fleets database shows Aerolineas Argentinas operates eight B737-700s and thirty-one B737-800s.
