Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat) and Clickair (XG/Barcelona) will merge in spring after the two carriers have received approval from the European Commission for the proposed merger. The new combined carrier will still be called Vueling Airlines with Iberia (IB/Madrid) holding around 40-45% of the shares Vueling and codesharing on all Vueling services. Clickair will give up its Barcelona-Frankfurt Intl route on March 27. It will however also introduce new services: Madrid-Malta: 3x weekly seasonal A320-200 service resuming on April 2 Malaga-Las Palmas: 4x weekly A320-200 service starting on March 29 Valencia-Malta: 2x weekly seasonal A320-200 service between July 2 and September 13 (Clickair)
