City Airline (Gothenburg Landvetter) has added three instead of just two ex-SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) MD-87s, has already taken delivery of two additional ex-Flybe. (BE/Exeter) ERJ-145s and will add two more ERJ-145 aircraft from the same source later this year. It has been sold by its founder Lars Magnusson to the senior management of the carrier. City Airline is also continuing to build up its hub at Gothenburg Landvetter airport: Gothenburg Landvetter-Bergen: 6x weekly ERJ-145 service has started on April 19 Gothenburg Landvetter-Stavanger: 5x weekly ERJ-135/-145 service has started on April 19 Gothenburg Landvetter-Umea: 2x daily ERJ-135/-145 service has started on May 17 (replacing one-stop via Stockholm Västeras) It has however not launched previously announced routes from Gothenburg Landvetter to Athens, Milan Malpensa and Riga. Very short lived routes from Stockholm Västeras to Gothenburg Landvetter and Umea have already been cancelled again on May 16 and the new City Airline owners seemed to have abandoned a strategy to set up joint ventures with local businesses in smaller Swedish cities. It had previously announced that it was planning to add Borlänge, Karlstad, Malmö, Norrköping and Orebro to its network through such joint ventures.
