HK Express (UO, Hong Kong International) Chief Commercial Officer Jonathan Hutt says the LCC has attracted attention from other interested investors aside from Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International).

“Our board of directors has received interest from certain strategic investors, and it’s very early stages," he told The South China Morning Post. “There has been no firm commitment to any deal and there is no guarantee that a concrete deal is going ahead.”

Last week, Cathay Pacific confirmed media reports that it was "in active discussions about an acquisition involving Hong Kong Express".

Partly owned by ailing Chinese conglomerate HNA Group, HK Express operates eight A320ceo, five A320neo, and eleven A321ceo on scheduled flights to 25 destinations spread across Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, China, the Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, and Cambodia.
