Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) is adding two ex-Swiss (LX/Zurich) A330-200s and two ex-Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Atatürk) A321-200s later this year after fully integrating its subsidiary LTU International Airways (LT/Dusseldorf Intl) on April 1 and now operating as a single entity with one operating certificate. Getting closer to full oneworld membership, Air Berlin has started codesharing with British Airways (BA/London Heathrow) and Iberia (IB/Madrid) on all routes from Austria, Germany and Switzerland to Spain and the UK and some additional services as of July 5. Air Berlin is planning to set-up a new subsidiary based in Antalya this fall, reportedly called Air Turkya with aircraft initially to be operated by Izair (4I/Izmir) that will operate three B737-800s on services between Turkey and Germany. While it has temporarily suspended its routes to Tunisia, Air Berlin will replace Monastir by Enfidha when it resumes leisure services to Tunisia later this year. It has added a variety of new international routes to its network but has cut frequencies on some domestic routes as a result of the new air transport tax implemented by the German government earlier this year: Basle/Mulhouse-Malta: weekly seasonal B737-700 service has started on May 1 Berlin Tegel-Basle/Mulhouse: 2x daily A320-200/A321-200 service has started on February 24 Berlin Tegel-Linz: 5x weekly A319-100/B737-700/EMB-190 service has started on May 30 Berlin Tegel-New York JFK: 4x weekly A330-200 service has started on May 2 Berlin Tegel-Olbia: 3x weekly seasonal A320-200/B737-700 service has started on May 3 Berlin Tegel-Ronne: weekly seasonal Dash 8-400 service between June 18 and August 27 (operated by LGW – Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (HE/Dortmund)) Berlin Tegel-Verona: 6x weekly A319-100/B737-700 service has started on April 15 Braunschweig-Moscow Vnukovo: weekly EMB-190 service has started on March 18 (operated by Niki (HG/Vienna)) Cologne/Bonn-Casablanca: weekly seasonal B737-800 service between August 5 and September 16 Cologne/Bonn-Enfidha: weekly seasonal service between September 27 and October 25 Copenhagen Kastrup-Palma de Mallorca: 4x weekly A320-200 service has resumed on April 15 Dusseldorf Intl-Bari: 3x weekly B737-700 service has started on February 3 Dusseldorf Intl-Cagliari: 3x weekly A319-100/B737-700/-800 service has started on May 28 Dusseldorf Intl-Cancun-Liberia: bi-weekly A330-200 service starting on November 12 (extension of existing Dusseldorf-Cancun route) Dusseldorf Intl-Curacao: weekly seasonal A330-200 service starting on November 15 Dusseldorf Intl-Enfidha: 2x weekly A320-200/B737-800 service starting on November 1 Dusseldorf Intl-Florence: daily Dash 8-400 service has started on May 27 (operated by LGW – Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter) Dusseldorf Intl-Guernsey: weekly seasonal Dash 8-400 service between April 16 and September 10 (operated by LGW – Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter) Dusseldorf Intl-Skopje: weekly B737-700 service has started on June 26 Dusseldorf Intl-Verona: 6x weekly B737-700 service has started on April 15 Dusseldorf Weeze-Palma de Mallorca: 3x weekly B737-700/-800 service has started on April 21 Enfidha-Hanover-Leipzig/Halle-Enfidha: weekly A320-200 service starting on November 1 Friedrichshafen-Palma de Mallorca: 3x weekly A320-200 service has started on April 16 (operated by Niki) Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel-Reykjavik Keflavik: weekly seasonal A319-100 service has started on June 19 Hanover-Guernsey-Jersey-Hanover: weekly seasonal Dash 8-400 service between April 30 and September 24 (operated by LGW – Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter) Hanover-London Gatwick: weekly B737-700 service has started on February 7 (replacing London Stansted route) Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden-Kos: weekly seasonal A319-100 service has started on May 7 Munich-Enfidha: weekly Münster/Osnabrück-Catania: 2x weekly seasonal B737-800 service has started on May 1 Münster/Osnabrück-Olbia: weekly seasonal B737-700 service has started on May 7 Münster/Osnabrück-Rijeka: weekly seasonal Dash 8-400 service between May 28 and August 13 (operated by LGW – Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter) Nuremberg-Constanta: weekly seasonal B737-700 service has started on May 24 Nuremberg-Enfidha: 2x weekly service starting on November 4 Nuremberg-London Gatwick: 2x daily B737-700 service has started on February 7 (replacing London Stansted route) Nuremberg-Malta: weekly seasonal B737-700 service has started on May 1 Nuremberg-Tivat: weekly seasonal B737-700 service has started on May 18 Saarbrücken-Las Palmas: weekly B737-800 service starting on November 5 Saarbrücken-Nuremberg: 5x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 7 Stuttgart-Fuerteventura: 2x weekly A320-200 service starting on November 5 Stuttgart-Lanzarote: weekly A320-200 service starting on November 4 Stuttgart-Moscow Domodedovo: 4x weekly A320-200 service has started on May 1 Stuttgart-St. Petersburg: 2x weekly seasonal A320-200 service between May 7 and August 20 Zurich-Bodrum: weekly seasonal A319-100 service has started on May 21 (operated by Belair Airlines (4T/Zurich)) Zurich-Brindisi: 3x weekly A320-200 service has started on April 15 (operated by Belair Airlines) Zurich-Skopje: 2x weekly A320-200 service has started on April 30 (operated by Belair Airlines) It has given up its routes from Cologne/Bonn to Bari, Cagliari and Innsbruck, from Frankfurt Intl to Pristina, from Hanover to Arvidsjaur and Salzburg, from Munich to Pristina, from Münster/Osnabrück to Rhodes and Rome Fiumicino, from Salzburg to London Stansted, from Stuttgart to Arvidsjaur and Bari and from Zurich to Bari and Naples.
