Jet Airways (Mumbai International) has announced plans to only retain Jet Airways Konnect (Mumbai International) as a budget brand in the Indian domestic market. Its subsidiary JetLite (Delhi International) will operate Jet Airways Konnect services in the future. Exact details about the transition are yet to be published but the brand transition is expected to be made in May. JetLite currently operates 9 B737-700s, 8 B737-800s and 2 B737-900s. It had recently added two ex-Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) B737-900s and is planning to add a third aircraft soon. Jet Airways itself has placed orders for five ATR 72-600s that are to be delivered later this year as well as 17 B737-800s it has ordered from Boeing. It has however cancelled orders for two outstanding B777-300ERs yet to be delivered.
