Condor (DE, Frankfurt International) has chosen Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for its narrowbody fleet renewal with plans to source at least forty-one A320neo Family jets.
In a statement, the German leisure specialist said it would procure thirteen A320-200Ns and twenty-eight A321-200Ns via lease and direct purchases. It also has an unspecified number of purchase rights. Deliveries will start in Spring 2024.
"As of early 2024, we plan to phase in 6-10 of the short/medium haul aircraft to start the rollover of our short/medium-haul fleet," a spokeswoman told ch-aviation while declining to comment on the acquisition's exact make up.
Condor will use the new generation Airbus jets to replace its existing narrowbody fleet of thirteen A320-200s (of which nine are owned and the rest leased), ten A321-200s (of which all are leased), and thirteen B757-300s (of which two are owned and the rest leased).
The carrier is expecting sixteen A330-900s to replace its widebody fleet of sixteen B767-300ERs with deliveries due from late 2022 through until mid-2024.
