After suspending flight operations in September 2020, TransNusa (8B, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) is to restart on October 6, 2022, with twice-daily flights between Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta and Denpasar and between Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta and Yogyakarta International. The announcement coincided with TransNusa resuming ticket sales for the first time since 2020.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, TransNusa has two Airbus jets - A320-200 PK-TLB (msn 2835) and an A320-200N, PK-TLA (msn 9440). Both planes are at the airline via operating leases from CALC. That entity also holds a 49% equity interest in PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri, TransNusa's formal name. A third plane, a BAe 146-100 that TransNusa retains from pre-pandemic days, is in storage at Kupang with the airline making no moves to return it to service.

From mid-October, TransNusa is increasing frequencies on the Jakarta - Denpasar route to five roundtrips a day. Since ceasing operations in 2020, the airline has rejigged its operating model to become a low-cost carrier and is rebooting services with fares starting from IDR500,000 Indonesian rupiah (USD33 dollars).

The ch-aviation PRO airlines module reveals that including TransNusa, there are now 15 active scheduled passenger airlines based in Indonesia. The country remains one of the world's busiest domestic markets. In the first week of TransNusa's flights, eight other airlines will offer 75,007 seats on the Jakarta - Denpasar route while five other airlines will offer 21,878 seats on the Jakarta - Yogyakarta route.
