Hawaiian Airlines (HA, Honolulu) has selected Empire Airlines (EM, Coeur d'Alene Pappy Boyington) as the operator of its ATR 42-500s that it plans to operate on regional services from 2013. The two carriers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that would see Empire operating the two ATR 42-500s recently acquired by Hawaiian that are currently being prepared at Empire’s maintenance facility at Coeur d'Alene Pappy Boyington. Empire currently operates 11 ATR 42-300(F) and 3 ATR 72-200(F) freighters on behalf of FedEx Express (FX, Memphis International) already.
