Malmö Aviation (Malmö) has reportedly rebranded itself as "Mavia" after Flygnyheter.se reported sightings of a wet-leased Saab 2000 from sister carrier Braathens Regional (Trollhättan) sporting the new titles and branding on flights between Östersund and Stockholm Bromma. Mavia has long been the internal nickname for Malmö Aviation, used both within the company and in the industry, and its adoption is seen as an attempt at embracing a more exciting identity. However, there are no plans to paint any more planes in the fleet with the Mavia logo and its remains to be seen what will happen when the airline's first of five A220-100s arrive in 2014.
