Northern Star Aviation (Aalborg) is a new Danish start-up aiming to launch operations in January 2014 that plans to focus primarily on the air taxi, air ambulance, training and freight markets. Based out of Aalborg, newstodate has revealed that the airline will operate a fleet of three CRJ200s and three B757-200s acquired and owned by a new investment group, Blauenschild Holding. The CRJ200 aircraft will carry 50 passengers or six stretchers for medevac/air ambulance services while of the three Boeing 757-200 aircraft, one will reportedly be a Combi whose quick-change capabilities will appeal to the military market segment. The airline's management is listed as Jens Blauenschild, chairman of the board, Jacob Rasmussen, managing director of air ambulance and medevac specialists, Global Reach Aviation (GAV, Billund), and entrepreneur Hedin Krett. Northern Star will use the air operator certificate of fellow Danish carrier, North Flying (NFA, Aalborg). Northern Star Aviation is understood to be scouting for potential long-term ACMI commitments, especially for its planned freighter fleet.
