Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International) parent Republic Airways Holdings has announced that it has agreed to a 48-hour extension of exclusivity of the sale process for Frontier Airlines (F9, Denver International). “Indigo Partners informed us they have made good progress but have not been able to resolve all the conditions to close the transaction,” said Republic Airways Chairman, President and CEO Bryan Bedford. “They requested and we agreed to extend the deadline by 48 hours.” Indigo is still to reach deals with Frontier flight attendant union and its credit card processor Barclays. The original deadline expired on November 4. According to the Associated Press, once acquired, Indigo intends to grow Frontier as an Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier (ULCC).
