Boeing (BOE, Washington National) could delay the delivery of the fourth B787-8 to Norwegian Air International (Dublin International) by a few weeks following the recent discovery of hairline cracks in the wings of forty of the type that are currently under construction.

According to Reuters, Norwegian said it was confident in the ability of Boeing to honour its obligations. "When Boeing agrees deliveries with us, there is always room for delays. We expect these deliveries to happen within that time," a spokeswoman was quoted as telling daily newspaper Aftenposten.

The Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen) subsidiary has a total of fourteen B787-8s and B787-9s on order of which four will enter service in 2014; one in 2015; two in 2016; two in 2017 and two in 2018.
