Sólyom Hungarian Airways (Budapest) has turned to crowdfunding in a bid to raise HUF150million (USD0.673million) in start-up capital. According to its prospectus, the carrier will offer investors tiered "membership" levels based upon the amount invested.

János Lucsik, Managing Director of Sólyom Hungarian Airways Ltd, says the carrier is aiming to launch operations in autumn this year. A B737-500, HA-SHA (msn 24648), is currently being used as part of the start-up's AOC certification.

The original Sólyom Hungarian Airways was to have launched scheduled regional operations in September last year only for the venture to collapse at the eleventh hour when its Omani backers withdrew funding.
