Horizon Air (QX, Seattle Tacoma International) has signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for one DHC-8-400 valued at approximately USD32.6million at list prices. Signed during the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow 2014, Horizon retains its options on another seven Q400 NextGen aircraft as announced previously.

For its part the Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International) subsidiary, which operates a fleet of fifty-one Q400s on flights to 43 cities in the western United States, Canada and Mexico, also signed a five-year heavy maintenance agreement with the Canadian manufacturer in which Bombardier will carry out the airline's heavy maintenance requirements at Bombardier’s service centre at Tucson International, Arizona.
