Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) will assume the sale of several Orenair-operated routes later this month as part of its Group streamlining initiative. In a statement, the Russian carrier said that effective January 15, it will place "SU" flight numbers on the following Orenair-operated flights out of Moscow Vnukovo: Chelyabinsk Balandino, Kazan International, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo, Mineralnye Vody, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Orenburg, Rostov Platov, Samara Kurumoch, and Simferopol. Service is on-board Orenair B737-800s.
The sale of flights via a single, unified IT platform will allow Aeroflot to simultaneously minimize costs as well as derive additional income through its interline agreement with Orenair.
"A unified flight code with subsidiary airlines gives an opportunity to implement a code-sharing agreement with the third carriers. A particular importance for subsidiary flights is the opportunity to participate in the Skyteam global alliance joint product," it said.
Orenair charter services as well as scheduled flights from Orenburg to Dushanbe, Khudzhand, Moscow Domodedovo and St. Petersburg as well as between Orsk and Domodedovo will continue to operate with R2 flight numbers.
