Alliance Air (Armenia) (Yerevan) is planning to commence scheduled passenger operations in summer next year having secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia (GDCA).

Founder and CEO, Ararat Sargsyan, told a media conference in Yerevan last week that Alliance's maiden flight is scheduled for March 27 of next year. Operations are on-board a pair of leased SSJ 100/95s, currently in storage at Zhukovsky in Russia, with four more expected by 2017.

In terms of route network, the former Armavia (Yerevan) executive said Alliance would initially serve Moscow, Beirut, Tehran, Ashgabat, as well as various other Russian cities, from its Yerevan hub.
