Minoan Air (Heraklion) says Greece's five year-long economic crisis has forced it to temporarily suspend operations. In a brief statement, the carrier said the suspension would last "for a short period" and would allow it time to "redefine its objectives in line with its corporate philosophy."

Using four Fokker 50s, Minoan had operated scheduled domestic flights between Athens, Heraklion, Alexandroupolis, Rhodes, Thessaloniki, Kos Hippocrates, Mytilene, Mykonos, and Thira Santorini.
