KF Cargo (FK, Kelowna) has reactivated its DC-10 freighter fleet following the start of an air charter contract to ferry freight from Miami International to South America. The Canadian cargo carrier inaugurated operations on April 15 using its two DC-10-30(F)s - C-GKFD (msn 47928) and C-GKFT (msn 46917) - that had previously been parked at Hamilton, ON.

According to Air Cargo News, the contract entails a 3x weekly service to Bogotá, Colombia alongside a 3x weekly service to Caracas Simón Bolivar, Venezula, and onwards to Lima International, Peru.

Following the termination of its Toronto Pearson hub late last month, airline personnel had cast doubt on the DC-10's future role within the carrier's fleet.
