Hongkong Jet (Hong Kong International), the business aviation unit of China's HNA Group, has been barred from operating within mainland China for the next three years the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has announced.

In a statement, the regulatory body said the operator was suspected of using false documents to apply for a flight plan during what it termed, a "state-level event". Those suspected of facilitating the alleged illegal activities will be dealt with by the relevant state authorities, it added.

Hong Kong Jet was founded in 2009 and operates A318CJs, A319CJs, and a VIP-configured A330-200. It holds AOCs in Hong Kong and Bermuda. It recently completed the acquisition of rival Asia Jet (Hong Kong International).
