Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) has sold five B737-800s to Shenzhen Airlines (ZH/Shenzhen). It will wet-lease several B737-700s from Germania (ST/Berlin Tegel) that were previously operated on behalf of TUIfly (Germany) (X3/Hanover). Air Berlin has taken over all European routes from its subsidiaries Belair Airlines (4T/Zurich) and LTU Intl Airways (LT/Dusseldorf). All intercontinental services and Belair flights between Switzerland and non-EU destinations are still operated using Belair and LTU flight numbers for the time being. Some Belair short haul services are now operated by Air Berlin, dba and LTU aircraft while its B757-200s are also operating flights from German airports. Air Berlin has announced a variety of new routes: Basle/Mulhouse-Antalya: weekly B737-800 service starting on May 6 Basle/Mulhouse-Heraklion: weekly B737-800 service starting on May 2 Basle/Mulhouse-Kos: weekly B737-800 service starting on May 7 Basle/Mulhouse-Lamezia Terme: weekly B737-700 service starting on May 4 Basle/Mulhouse-Rhodes: weekly B737-800 service starting on May 1 Dusseldorf-Athens: daily A320-200 service starting on May 1 Dusseldorf-Beijing: 4x weekly A330-300 service starting on May 1 operated by LTU Intl Airways (LT/Dusseldorf) Dusseldorf-Salzburg: weekly seasonal Fokker 100 service starting on December 22 (operated by Germania) Dusseldorf-Shanghai Pu Dong: 4x weekly A330-200 service starting on May 1 operated by LTU Intl Airways Dusseldorf-Tbilisi: weekly B737-800 service starting on December 14 Nuremberg-Olbia: 2x weekly A319-100/A320-200 service starting on May 4 Nuremberg-Paris Orly: 6x weekly A320-200/B737-700 service (replacing its Paris CDG services since October 28) Zurich-Catania: weekly A320-200 service starting on May 2 Zurich-Mykonos: weekly A320-200 service starting on May 7 Zurich-Olbia: 2x weekly A320-200 service starting on May 4 Zurich-Samos: weekly B737-800 service starting on May 5 Zurich-Santorini: weekly A320-200 service starting on May 7 Zurich-Zakinthos: weekly B757-200 service starting on May 2 operated by Belair Air Berlin has entered into a close cooperation with regional carrier LGW - Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (HE/Dortmund) which is now operating all of its services using Air Berlin flight numbers. Air Berlin has launched a variety of new routes in early November in cooperation with LGW: Dortmund-Berlin Tegel: 3x daily Do228-200 service (replacing earlier Tempelhof service by LGW) Dortmund-Stuttgart: 3x weekdaily Do228-200 service Dusseldorf-Hanover: 5x daily Do228-200 service Dusseldorf-Saarbrücken: 4x daily Do228-200 service Air Berlin will terminate its routes from Leipzig/Halle to London Stansted and from Munich to Bremen and Milan Orio al Serio in early January 2008. It has not given up its Paderborn-Manchester route as previously incorrectly reported by CH-Aviation. It still operates a three times weekly B737-800 service on the route.
