Air France (AF, Paris CDG) has taken delivery of its first B787-9 on lease from AerCap following the arrival of F-HRBA (msn 38769) at Paris CDG on Friday, December 2.

The new Boeing aircraft’s maiden route is expected to be Paris CDG to Cairo International on January 9, 2017. Prior to its entry into regular service, Air France will run four special welcome flights on January 7 and 8 from Paris over regions of France, lasting 2 hours 30 minutes. Between February 6 and March 25, Air France will also use the aircraft on six weekly Paris CDG-London Heathrow services.

A second B787-9, due for delivery in April 2017, will be used on trans-Atlantic flights to Montréal Trudeau from May 1, 2017.

Air France has a total of eighteen B787-9s and seven B787-10s currently on order.
