Asiana Airlines (OZ, Seoul Incheon) has announced it will commence scheduled A350-900 operations during the second quarter of the current year.

An airline statement to the Yonhap news agency said effective May 15, the twinjet will be provisionally deployed on flights from Seoul Incheon to each of Osaka Kansai (7x weekly) and Manila Ninoy Aquino International (6x weekly). During the second half of the year, longhaul operations will commence with flights to San Francisco and London Heathrow initially.

Asiana's A350s will come configured with twenty-eight seats in Business Smartium, thirty-six in Economy Smartium, and 247 in Economy. The aircraft are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84s.

Official Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) order numbers show the South Korean carrier has a total of eight A350-800s, twelve A350-900s, and ten A350-1000s on order. Four -900s are expected to deliver this year.
