Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) has confirmed two firms have submitted proposals following the issuance of a Request For Proposals (RFP) for the short-term wet-lease of an A320 this summer.

Airline managing director Sugat Ratna Kansakar told The Kathmandu Post last week that bids had been received from Bhutan Airlines (B3, Paro) as well as 12 Stars Aviation, a UK-based aircraft broker.

With the deadline for submissions having passed in May, the two bids will now be scrutinized before a winner, if any, is chosen.

The contract will run for a period of forty-five (45) days, extendable to sixty (60), effective July 16, 2017. The aircraft will substitute Nepal Airlines' sole remaining B757-200, set to head off for necessary maintenance, on services to Kuala Lumpur International, Doha Hamad International, Delhi International, and Bengaluru International in particular.
