South American airline conglomerate LATAM Airlines Group has confirmed it has restructured its Airbus and Boeing order books thus cutting its fleet expenditure commitments for 2019 by USD1.1 billion.

In its 2Q17 financial results published last week, the carrier group said it had deferred the arrival of two B787-9s while converting two A350-1000s into A350-900s. In addition, it has also managed to defer the arrival of three A320 family jets.

LATAM Airlines Group has also deferred the arrival of three A320neos, originally expected in 2017, until 2018 thus lowering its fleet commitments for 2017 but increasing those for 2018.
