Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) has made a volte-face concerning the delivery of A350-900s it had originally planned to reject. In July this year, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Akbar al-Baker confirmed the Gulf-based carrier had scrapped orders with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for four A350-900s citing delays in their delivery-readiness.

However, speaking at Boeing (BOE, Washington National) during the delivery ceremony for its first B747-8(F), al-Baker told Reuters that an agreement concerning their delivery would be concluded shortly.

Separately, al-Baker told CNBC news that despite being rebuffed by American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) earlier this year, Qatar Airways was still looking to invest in an airline in the United States.
