Olympic Airlines (Athens) has seen interest from several bidders including start-up Athens Airways (8D/Athens), Iberia (IB/Madrid), MyAir (8I/Milan Orio al Serio), Qatar Airways (QR/Doha), SkyEurope Airlines (NE/Bratislava) shareholder York Capital and several other financial investors from Greece, Kuwait and the US. The privatization process has caused several employee protests including runway blockades and short strikes so far. Olympic has added another ex-JPATS (JUD/Oklahoma City) B737-400 to replace the last A300-600R it has just retired. It has suspended its own Athens-Geneva services in favour of a codeshare agreement with Baboo (F7/Geneva). Olympic has also terminated its Thessaloniki-Frankfurt Intl route.
