AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) has taken delivery of Airbus's first Tianjin-assembled A320neo aircraft following the delivery of 9M-AGK (msn 7803) last week. The 186-seat aircraft, which features CFM International LEAP-1A engines, left Tianjin on October 26 for Kuala Lumpur International.

According to the ch-aviation fleets database, it is the second Tianjin-assembled A320 delivered to the AirAsia Group after an A320-200ceo aircraft delivered to AirAsia Philippines (Manila Ninoy Aquino International) back in 2012.

The new A320neo is AirAsia's ninth aircraft of the type with another four of the aircraft already in service with Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang). AirAsia has another 291 A320neo and 100 A321neo aircraft on order from Airbus with three A320-200s also still left to be delivered.
