China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) has taken delivery of its first B737-8 with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) handing over B-1206 (msn 63245) to the Chinese operator on Monday, November 27. The aircraft is currently being positioned to China where it is expected to arrive at Guangzhou on December 1.

According to China Southern's 2016 annual report, seven B737 MAXs are to be delivered to China Southern Airlines Group in 2017, with eighteen due in 2018 and twenty-eight in 2019. The carrier expects to deploy the aircraft to its Guangzhou primary hub as well as to its branches in each of Xinjiang, Henan, and Hubei.

China Southern Airlines has configured its B737 MAX 8s with four seats in business class, twenty-four in Pearl Economy Class, and 150 in Economy Class.
