China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) has taken delivery of its first B737-8 on direct order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). Flightradar24 ADS-B data indicates B-1383 (msn 61623) was positioned from Everett to Tianjin via Honolulu and Guam International this past week.

The first of the MAX 8s to be based out of China Eastern's Yunnan branch, B-1383 will shortly be deployed into commercial service on flights from Kunming Changshui to each of Shenzhen and Shanghai Hongqiao. Other destinations include Beijing Capital and Chengdu Shuangliu and there are even plans to use the type on flights from Kunming Changshui to Malé, Maldives, from December 28.

China Eastern B737 MAX 8s feature eight seats in Business class, eighteen in Super Economy and 150 in Economy Class.
