Air Tanzania (TC, Dar es Salaam) has taken delivery of its third and final Dash 8-400 following the arrival of 5H-TCE (msn 4559) in Dar es Salaam on Monday, April 2.

The aircraft, which is leased from the state-owned firm, TGF - Tanzania Government Flight (Dar es Salaam), was at the centre of a dispute between Stirling Civil Engineering and the Tanzanian government.

It was to have been delivered in August last year but was seized by the Canadian contractor following government's unwillingness to settle a USD38.7 million debt awarded to Sterling by the International Court of Arbitration in 2010. The case pertained to a cancelled USD25 million civil engineering contract.

As neither the government nor Sterling have chosen to comment on the matter, the release of the aircraft is presumed to be an indication that some form of settlement has been reached between the two sides.
