Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) will expand its North Rhine-Westphalia market presence this summer with the opening of a base at Düsseldorf Airport, complimenting that already in service at Düsseldorf Weeze.

From June 1 onwards, the Irish budget carrier said in a statement it will deploy one B737-800 to Dusseldorf Airport were it will be used to open three new routes: Alicante (daily), Malaga (daily), and Palma de Mallorca (daily).

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, Eurowings is Dusseldorf's largest carrier by weekly capacity with 112,566 seats/week (37.08%) followed by Lufthansa with 24,572 seats/week (8.09%), and Condor with 19,615seats/week (6.46%).

Ryanair maintains nine other bases around Germany including Berlin Schönefeld, Bremen Hans Koschnick, Cologne/Bonn, Frankfurt Hahn, Frankfurt International, Hamburg Helmut Schmidt, Memmingen, Nuremberg, and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden.
