ExpressJet Airlines (Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) pilots have ratified a new labour contract which, alongside pay rises, ensures that the regional specialist, a wholly-owned unit of SkyWest Airlines (OO, Salt Lake City), will operate at least twenty E175s on behalf of United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare), Air Line Pilots Association has said in a press release.

"Everything in this contract was negotiated with a written contingency that guarantees that we will immediately return to negotiations if United Airlines does not award at least twenty 70-seat Embraer EMB-175s to ExpressJet by January 2019,” ExpressJet Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) Master Executive Council Joe Mauro said.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, ExpressJet Airlines currently operates forty-one CRJ700s, three E135LRs, and 115 E145s. The production carrier flies exclusively for the US Big Three Airlines, operating as United Express, American Eagle, and Delta Connection for United, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines, respectively.

ExpressJet's parent, SkyWest, already operates 136 EMB-175 on behalf of United, American, Delta, and Alaska Airlines.

United does not currently operate any Embraer regional jets itself, instead outsourcing these operations to regional specialists. The carrier ordered twenty-five EMB-175s from the Brazilian manufacturer in July 2018, with deliveries planned for 2019.
