NCA - Nippon Cargo Airlines (KZ, Tokyo Narita) has announced it had resumed flights from Tokyo Narita to each of Amsterdam Schiphol and Milan Malpensa on October 5, marking the return to Europe over three months after the airline was grounded due to discrepancies in maintenance logs.
The carrier has previously resumed regional flights in Asia, starting with operations to Shanghai Pudong from July 5, followed by Hong Kong International. On September 28, the airline also resumed American operations to Chicago O'Hare via Anchorage Ted Stevens.
Prior to the suspension, NCA had also served Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Dallas/Fort Worth, Frankfurt Hahn, Los Angeles International, New York JFK, Osaka Kansai, San Francisco, Singapore Changi, and Taipei Taoyuan, according to the ch-aviation schedules module.
"The rest of the aircraft operation will resume in sequence as soon as the aircraft safety is confirmed and the preparation for flight is completed," the cargo specialist said.
NCA currently operates a single B747-400(F) and two B747-8(F)s with a further two B747-400 and six B747-8 freighters still undergoing maintenance at Narita International Airport near Tokyo and at Hong Kong's International Airport, ch-aviation fleets data shows.
The carrier was completely grounded between June 17 and July 4, 2018.
