Lufthansa Cargo (LH, Frankfurt International) has announced it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Post Group Corporation during a ceremony in Beijing on Wednesday, November 21.

According to a joint statement, the agreement has scope for the equivalent capacity of “one B777-F a week” on Lufthansa Cargo's Shanghai PudongFrankfurt International route. In addition, the two firms are jointly working on shortening transportation times, improving quality and further developing digitalization.

“In recent years, the cooperation between China Post and Lufthansa Cargo has enjoyed constant growth. The eCommerce business is in a vigorous development. Both China Post and Lufthansa Cargo are now upgrading and innovating the business model."

"Under the concept of the 'Joint Freight Operation', the two sides have reached a further consensus on capacity agreement this time. We will jointly build a more stabilized and comprehensive channel of air mail transportation connecting China and Europe," Li Xiong, Vice President of China Post Group Corporation, said.

Given their strong ties in building the Europe-China market, from Beijing Capital and Guangzhou in particular, the two partners said they will continue to seek out new opportunities for future cooperation.
